The Story
About This Mural
Located on a concrete underpass structure, this mural features a vibrant celebration of California wildlife and nature rendered in bold primary colors. The composition showcases a monarch butterfly in orange and black, a colorful deer with geometric blue and yellow patterning, wildflowers in warm reds and greens, and delicate botanical illustrations set against a tiered background of soft cream, blue, and golden yellow. The design skillfully incorporates the natural landscape visible through the structure's openings, creating a dialogue between the painted wildlife imagery and the actual terrain beyond, while planters with native vegetation at ground level extend the ecological theme into the public space.
