Hire a Mural Artist ("we," "us," or "our") respects the intellectual-property rights of others and expects our users to do the same. Murals are works of art, and the artist who created a mural generally holds the copyright in that artwork. This policy explains how we handle copyright concerns and how to ask us to remove material you believe infringes your rights.
If you're an artist or rights-holder
If you believe a photo or listing on the Site reproduces your work without authorization, you can ask us to take it down. The fastest way is our copyright concern form, or you can send a formal notice to our Copyright Agent below. We remove material that is the subject of a valid notice promptly.
Filing a DMCA takedown notice
To submit a notice under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512), please provide our Copyright Agent with the following:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed.
- Identification of the material you want removed and enough information for us to locate it (e.g., the URL of the mural page or photo).
- Your name, address, telephone number, and email address.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf.

Counter-notification
If you believe material of yours was removed by mistake or misidentification, you may send our Copyright Agent a counter-notification that includes your signature; identification of the removed material and where it appeared; a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification; and your name, address, and telephone number, with consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your district (or, if outside the U.S., any district in which we may be found) and acceptance of service from the person who filed the original notice.
Repeat infringers
We will, in appropriate circumstances, disable or terminate the accounts of users who are repeat infringers.
Note on murals and photos
Many photos on the Site are submitted by visitors and artists or come from publicly available sources, with attribution to the photographer where available. A photo of a mural can involve two separate sets of rights — the photographer's and the mural artist's. If you hold either and want your work removed, contact us and we'll take care of it.
